It's been years since Azure became the main revenue for Microsoft, hence Linux is more valuable to Microsoft than Windows itself, this is why they developed WSL, as soon as Satya Nadella became CEO, they stopped trying to force Windows into everyone but put their services into other platforms instead; second place would be Office, and Windows would be like the fourth or fifth biggest source of income, but services (Bing, LinkedIn, Azure, Microsoft365) and hardware (Xbox, Surface, HoloLens,etc) are more valuable to Microsoft already.
Microsoft is an expert on doing multi million contracts with extremely huge corporations or governments, Google and Amazon are still behind in these regards, even though Amazon is extremely close.
