You mean blogger and redditor entourage maybe. In academic circles, it's Emacs/Zettlr/Roam/Obsidian/Logseq. And Obsidian is winning against all the others, gains more users each day.

I just use this because I cant be fucked to learn emacs just to type some basic markdown notes, how come it never gets any updates?

So I can't speak to specific companies but many large game companies use it internally because it can be edited by several people simultaneously.

I use Notion for organising shit and sharing stuff but Obsidian for a zettelkasten (more a wiki, but whatever).

VS Code + Foam already exists

Logseq exists, essentially Obsidian but FOSS.

Tried it on MacOS. What made me dislike it:

>vim mode is clearly implemented horribly
>extensions are made by total amateurs and break on updates
>window tiling shortcuts out the box are horrible and require over-customization
>personally over the whole md double window thing

"second brains" are a meme in their current format. yeah sure take a bunch of notes and make a colorful web you can stare at, while i actually use that time to learn
