No company will ever prioritise build quality the way Lenovo did with their Thinkpads. This one I'm on was made 2008, I bought it around 2014, it sat in a cupboard for 8 years until I recently started using it as a daily grinder to save on electricity, and it still works flawlessly.

I was under the impression that newer ThinkPads were inferior to the old ones. It would make sense since the older ones were just modified IBM designs.
