I use the name dead internet theory because it was used before.
However what it really should be named is the bot filled internet theory.
I propose that the internet is overrun by bots. You can not believe how empty and fake all of it feels. Especially 4 chan, its like I'm talking to bots most of the time, I even noticed a scenario like a bot breaking or getting confused by the subject of my post.
You can test this out for yourself on Any Forums or Any Forums post about some not well known show from the 90s.
The responses are trash and not even worth reading most of the time. I turned from getting excited to post here to basically predicting exaclty what responces I will get.
Sure you can blame zoomers or schizos and shitposters for it all however I really think the majority of vapid posts here are bots and the same is for the rest of the internet.
The same fucken handful of content creators on YT. Jesus fuck YT feels like a ghost town. It is literally like TV 2.0 I mean in 2016 and before it did feel like a wild place you could discover new people with the suggestions on the side bar it was a never ending journey of exploration.
It all feels so empty, I swear it is like 60% I feel like literally everyone died like 4 years ago and I'm alone posting and only talking to bots. I feel like this 60%. It is all so empty.
I mean WTF. Anyone else feels like this ? I stay away from the cringe shit of deep fake videos, sure there are content creators and e-celebs however they are like a handful of the same people hand picked by YT itself.
For others my generation they know how it all changed we know how it was and we know that it feels like TV 2.0 out there.
I do not think that it is malicious, YT wanted to sanitize itself so it tinkered with the algorithm until it removed 99% of every other channel from the recommendations.
And the removal of comments simply ads to this on all websites, the comments where the most important part of the article you did read the article and then moved to the comments. However comments are a rarity now if they exist even.
As for 4 chan ? I think it is no malicious it is desperation. I think the staff of various websites seeing the vanishing of users did what most video game devs did a long time ago, started including bots to replace users who are not coming back to keep the illusion of a functioning game.
This is what Any Forums did, 4 chan added bots after people started going away. This is why all the discussion feels so empty now.
And reddit is a joke. With shadow bans etc, it all feels like you are not going to a place to have a discussion and see other people. No you are in a enclosed space where most interactions are pre made and then you get to talk to some bots.
Fuck I remember it being a big shock that your google first page is not my google first page years back.
