Why is GNOME so hated by Any Forums ?
I've hardly used it but it doesn't seem as bad as some here say

I like it, but I use KDE.
I like cinnamon, mate, xfce too.
:)
I used XFCE for years then changed to GNOME 40+ as my main DE and I really like it.
It's the devs

Because its a foot fetish logo
If it works, Any Forums hates it. Remember that.
Because it's a bare-bones DE that needs 3rd party extensions to provide basic functionality.
same
The DE? Probably because of the historical clusterfuck of the transition from GNOME2 to GNOME3 and the fact that even now it still needs plugins and other changes to get the some functionality that GNOME2 had.
All their other software? Probably because they use to be known for having software that worked well across all desktop environments and now they only want their programs and development libraries to function properly on GNOME.
The organization? Because it's incredibly difficult to get involved with or get reasonable changes merged in because they don't care about anyone else's opinions. I mean ffs do you know how many hoops you need to jump through to get a bug submitted and looked at?
It's worthless bloat with no redeeming value whatsoever.
