I so fucking love this thing...

I so fucking love this thing. I use M1 MacBook Air since mid 2021 and this shit's the most comfiest laptop I've ever used.

should i buy it in 2022?

Agree. I only use it for basic office stuff and some mobile games ocassionally. You can't go back to x86 when the battery lasts so long.

True. I use it only for films, notes, calls, mails, some programming without running tests / building project and YAML cloud engineering (lmao). If I need real powerful machine so I just RDP/SSH to work PC, clone code to it and run tests / build. It's really cool to have Air M1 and PC with Windows to run VMs or playing games.

Perfect form factor, nice battery, *nix like OS, aesthetic of visual content and comfy UI/UX.

If you understand your needs for sure.

shit blog, where can I unsubscribe?

no, you should wait at least till november
its 2 years old technology at this point, the price point aint worth it

I think if you can find a good sale then maybe, but I would always feel a little off buying an apple product that will be upgraded within like 4-6 months. STILL, from the LE EPIC LEAKERINOS, we can guess that the newest one will have a LE FUCKING NOTCH and maybe white borders which I think are both inferior features. So if you got the m1 air 2020 at a good sale, it's worth considering.

as a nigerian, from my m1 air 2020 16gb ram 256gb sd

if you need/want one right now, yes. M1 machines are on the market for two years now, everyone knows what they are buying into. the M1 will be a powerhouse for many years to come. if you can/want wait, M2 will come, personally i don't think it will be this year, they basically just finished rolling out all M1 machines at this point.

is the base model good enough for web development? I abhor the price hike from $1,000 to $1,500 just for a 16gb ram upgrade. If I can live with just 8gb ram then I'll really buy it.

wrong board currynigger

Yes, the swap is effective despite initial bullshit campaign against it way back when it released. I have the 16gb but I could definitely go with 8gb for web dev + probably the rest of the shit I do. I played video games a few times and that's probably the only time I needed the 16gb

as a nigerian, from my bla bla bla

based, I'll wait until the next apple event if they announce new macbook air with new chip (and if it's reasonably priced) then I'll get it, otherwise macbook air m1 is still a good deal for me atm.

yes. the new MBA released later this year will have a white notch.
a black notch is not a problem, as it can be hidden with software. but a white notch can not be hidden. its the most retarded design choice ever.
so i would definitely recommend getting the 2020 MBA instead.

>white notch
source???

Obvious shill

it'd be comfy if I could run literally anything except mac os on it

based linux users in the bin

The leaks indicate white bezel and notch will be the same color ofc
THINK DIFFERENT

Not before WWDC, no. And after that if you really need one, yes, if you can wait for the November refresh, do so.
999 was a great price point at launch but now it's not as much of a great value as it used to be simply because tech ages.

m2 air later in the year (maybe) wait to see what happens at applefest in june

>i don't think it will be this year, they basically just finished rolling out all M1 machines at this point.
some dude was saying that now apple controls the chips, they don't have to wait for intel to make leaps in tech and apple can start going back to yearly models with slight upgrades much like iphones do. so it is tough luck for the M1Max buyers buyers because a new machine will be out this year and another different newer machine next year and so on. who knows if that will be true though.
