To be honest, I've been looking for THE perfect Linux distro for quite some time.
Like most of you, started with Ubuntu. After getting accustomed with it, grown to hate the spyware and snaps. I knew it was bad. Then Arch, Gentoo, all that tinkery stuff... while it gave some knowledge about how system works, it just isn't suitable for everyday use. Too unstable, too much maintenance.
I've started using Fedora as a mature Linux user already. I didn't like it at first. RPM Fusion? The hell is that? Why do I need to enable it?
But after a while... it clicked. It. Just. Works. It feels professional. Snappy. It has everything I need as a professional developer and nothing else.
No fancy themes, no spyware (like Ubuntu), it's stable, it's fresh, it works.
Why aren't you using Fedora? Still hasn't grown out of that Gentoo phase? Well, give Fedora a try. It IS good.

I'm deranged neet, I have awesomewm installed on the side for the sole purpose of messing with the config files.
It hasn't even began.

Can't get over the m'lady name. Not a fan of the association with Red Hat either, I have a lot of respect for them as corporations go but they are a corporation.
>Still hasn't grown out of that Gentoo phase?
It's not a phase, MOM. SHEESH! (But unironically.)
You have no grounds to judge unless you've tried it and actually gotten it to work.
Personally, I don't like my computer shoving things in my face. I didn't like it with ads, nags, automatic updates, FUD about potentially unsafe or insecure operations, or various other kinds of corporate propaganda, and I've come to realize I like it almost as little with legitimate features that I simply don't use. I realize how autistic it is of me, but if I don't have a printer, I want to see "Print..." in an app menu almost as little as I would want to see "Search with Bing" there in the same place. So one of the reasons I use Gentoo is because USE flags let me strip features I don't need out of software I do.
The other more important reason is bleeding-edge dev tools and libraries. If you're already autobuilding all your software from source, it obviously follows that most of the time, you already have all the build dependencies to manually build newer versions of that software than available in the repo. This lets me enjoy new features introduced by extremely recent and not-yet-popularized versions of libraries / language standards, without almost ever having to worry if I've missed a dependency somewhere.

Enjoy your insecure kernel, linuxtoddler

You have like 30 vulnerabilities in that IP. If I was you I would be cautious from now on

My ip is 171.100.240.254
Good luck, my firewall is enabled

>Why aren't you using Fedora?
Because dnf is a dumpster fire

Please don't mention Fedora. When anyone does Arch fanboys do really funny copoum filled rage fueld mental gymnastics because they know Fedora is better than Arch in every way. More stable, better documentations, more support, shit it's even runs games and high end hardware better. The last time I got into an argument with an arch fanboy he went on a rant about how fedora was terrible becaause grub was bad and flatpak was a meme and started incoherently screaming about glowies or something. The thing is I only mentioned how I was enjoying fedora and that triggered him. I never felt the basedjak and giga meme stronger than that moment. The sunk-cost fallacy is strong in arch fanboys they think installing an entire os from command line makes their os good.

>Why aren't you using Fedora?
Because I use Arch, which is objectively the best at this point but Fedora is also acceptable.
