>be me, three months into my first job >be assigned to work with pajeet across departments on task that takes priority over my general work responsibilities/training >I am helping him day in day out 24/7 during workdays, no time to tackle my general responsibilities before he asks me to shadow him >Every single time I talk bout our work, I say "we" and I never refer to myself singularly as I thought this was a collaborative effort due to him constantly asking for help/supervision like I am a senior developer even though he's been here 2x the time as me >he's working on this evenings until midnight every day, so when he comes in tired I have to help him find bugs in his design and thats IF he listens >Five weeks later, we are almost done >I catch on that I haven't been able to do my job curating the data because he doesn't give me a single solitary moment to myself to fix bugs with the design on my own or set up the database joins, which is my primary role on this job >I don't want to work with this asshole ever again, I need to talk to my boss before another assignment is given to us
I decide to go to my manager about this and explain:
>I told my manager I take responsibility for not setting boundaries but I have not been able to tackle my role due to helping with the design and him interrupting >he says I'm doing fantastic and that I will encounter people like this, all of management knows what is happening but this is a pertinent deadline, create boundaries but be careful because he reports to the dept head >At a meeting he says in front of all the managers "I was was told to work on the design, but I woke up at 4:30AM this morning and wrote out the query on prod, there are no issues with my design, the issue is with the data, I will help user with this today even though it is not my job" >not my job >bitch, I've been helping you do YOUR job this whole time
Don’t have advice because I’m still a college retard, but your story is what I find most scary about the corporate world. Having to act like a manicured NPC sociopath everyday is going to wear on my conscience.
Easton Rogers
Next time tell him you only have one day where you can help him and he must do all himself.
Nathan Lee
Switch teams, if that's not possible then get a new job. It'll only get worse because this means the pajeet thinks he's on a level higher than you (see how their caste system works). Unironically this is why I look to join chinese teams, they'll never take credit for your work and you don't have to worry about getting snaked with office politics bullshit and a fucking caste system.
Juan Gomez
Honestly I've learned more than I did my entire college education in the first eight weeks, if it wasn't for bad timing I'd have demoed an application that would be functionally the same as the task we're doing right now.
I was hesitant to dedicate any time to that task given how pertinent the assignment was and how would I compete with no code software that sold for over a billion dollars?
but my boss has been against using this software from day 1 and has been fed up the whole time, turns out this software has problems that are not applicable for our use case at scale and it will become more apparent once our users begin to test it this week.
Michael Barnes
If you don't get to reply to that shit then do not help the pajeet. If you get to reply to that shit then just tell the truth, and have actual evidence - chats, time slips etc prepped to prove that you were working your ass off on pajeet's tasks.
Kevin Jenkins
Based pajeet mogging autistic whitoid. Learn how to man up and speak what you think before posting again.

Why don't you just set aside a specific time window where he can bother you and rest of the time just say you are busy with your own part?
Ayden Martin
That's interesting. I've found the Chinese way harder to work with. Several times I've had them be mad at me when something doesn't work because they don't use it in the correct way, or because we don't come up with bug fixes quick enough - fixes for bugs they introduced, due to them just pushing out whatever code that seems to work at the moment and always finding a way to circumvent whatever checks and balances that are in place to catch that stuff. They also LOVE to reach out to managers whenever someone else doesn't lick their ass at any moment.
Hudson Hernandez
he's not on my team. he's across departments and his job is highly automated. he volunteered for this. I should have let him handle everything under his responsibility on his own.
Sebastian King
Haha that is just so fucking rude of him man. Really you shouldn't let people do that to you. I would look for another job.
Easton Phillips
White superiority complex is always ready to help the suppressed fellow human how they can, at the cost of their own health.
Michael Rogers
Seems like pajeets will get the same treatment from world war 2
Matthew Diaz
it's easy you retard. the poo sweet talked you into doing his work and you fell for it. you also didn't do YOUR job, that is also on you. suck it up, do your job and don't do his job ever again. he can't do his job himself, the problem will solve itself.

Thank you for the laugh.

> pajeet: "I was was told to work on the design, but I woke up at 4:30AM this morning and wrote out the query on prod, there are no issues with my design, the issue is with the data, I will help user with this today even though it is not my job" That’s rude as fuck. Stop being an autist and use corporate speech against him > user: aktually rajesh we had multiple roadblocks with the design and WE BOTH took our times to work on this. The delay in data is expected as i spent a considerable amount of time on removing blockers from YOUR design. But anyways thanks for offering to help me on the data, hope WE can finish this soon so stakeholders are happy :)
Beta gets absolutely btfo. How about you grow a pair?
Isaiah Diaz
I'm going to say something along the lines of that next week, like this:
>What "" is trying to say is that we have spent every day since the start of this task on the phone, on teams, and in person in ""'s office addressing roadblocks on the design. I am thankful "" was able to assist in return to deploy this task to users ASAP.
Isaac Bailey
sounds like you got thoroughly mogged. next time you need to do something like and speak up in a group setting.
Michael Cook
seriously stop helping people like this
if you get assigned an issue that requires you interact with him, keep the scope of your interaction to that issue only.
make sure all of this shit is recorded in jira or whatever PM tool you're using
Gabriel White
We don't use jira or any sort of designated ticketing system for all bugs. There is an internal software but currently it is in the works. Also version control is in the works.
Charles Lopez
I plan to. I'm already practicing. It's kinda funny because I am NOT that good with communication, but this is one case where I can absolutely get my point across, professionally.
