Embrace Emacs

When are you gonna grow out of your ncurses and terminal phase and accept TRUE extensibility? it can display images user.

I use wordpad

>slow
>bloated
no thanks ill just stick with vscodium

Neovim is better.

>their rendering is hardcoded to x11
>pgtk is still eons away and only a shortcut instead of a proper reimplementation
ngmi

this but with extensions ofc

if vschode is fast for you, emacs will feel as light as notepad on your machine

Take the vscode pill. It's the new normal. Even gehotz said so.

I just don't see what vscode offers that neovim+nvchad doesn't.

Please stop shilling Emacs on Any Forums. Any Forums is too dumb to appreciate it.

Unless it keeps hanging because everything is synchronous. Maybe one of your packages is doing something stupid, or maybe you're doing things that inherently take time, but either way, it's annoying.
I use Emacs and don't even extend it all that much but it's less responsive than VS Code. Fewer resources, sure, but worse latency.

Retards tinkers be like:
>I dont use bloat I like unix philosophy
>uses Systemd, Linux Kernel, Neovim, Vim, Firefox, Alacritty/Kitty, zsh, bash, fish etc...
Just admit you shitters care nothing about unix you just want to tinker

How do I learn how to use it? I've installed doom emacs and I basically just use it like vim.

Should I just emacs without the OS?

C-h i
Read those manuals, play with your Emacs, make its your own editor, and ask /emg/ when your config shits itself.

What? Basically everyone I work with is impressed by how fast I can go in Emacs. Are you still on 27? And the few things that block synchronously are either rare (like updating packages) or there exists a module to make it async.
It's best to learn how to learn Emacs. Make friends with describe-* functions, C-h, and install orderless so it's easier to find functions you want even if you haven't used them before.
Unfortunately true.

this, plus DT's emacs vids are pretty cool too

vscode is unironically blazing fast cuz electron. only electron app that is actually fast.

cant wait for the tauri rewrite of vscode

>it can display images user
Yes, but more than that it can render LaTeX inline

>cant wait for the tauri rewrite of vscode
I want trannies to rewrite vscode in rust.
