transmission is all you need

Transmission

transition to transmission

2.2.1

Aria2c

Usually not a problem with your torrent client but a problem with your connectability. Check NAT, port forwarding, packet filtering, etc. Could be any number of things. Much like the arguments about different media players, when all of them use ffmpeg anyway, most torrent clients use libtorrent.

That being said, I like qBittorrent and Deluge. They're both good, but I prefer qBittorrent more.

rutorrent

utorrent is the best torrent client though dont post about it as its illegal

transmission, deluge, qbittorrent, freedownloadmanager are the only torrent clients worth even considering.

also that isnt a client issue, thats a network issue. check your ports, nat and also make sure you arent being ip blocked by the tracker ir that your isp isnt blocking your torrent connections. when i lived at uni all torrent traffic was blocked on the network, and to add insult to injury so was vpn traffic (when i asked they said "oh we use our own von so you are secure enough here :)" )

why the fuck would i need to forward ports to download torrents?
i've fucked around with some settings and it worked BUT WHY THE FUCK DOESN'T IT WORK BY DEFAULT HOLY SHIT

Yeah, it's really great, but I can't have it downloading over night because I can't sleep with it glowing so much

something must have been wrong on your machine
looks like you didn't have a (stable) connection when you made the screenshot

security

I'll let you in on a secret: When you torrent with any client, your information is out there

i2psnark or BiglyBT

>retard-proof - works for most - cannot handle thousands of torrents efficiently
utorrent 2.2.1, qbittorrent, ktorrent, deluge

>the best
rtorrent w/ config file tuned to your network + flood/ruTorrent web front frontend

>why the fuck would i need to open the door to my house
>why doesnt the door automatically open whenever someone walks up to it
you have to manually open ports for security reasons. UPnP is used on a lot of things nowdays yo avoid you needing to manually configure your network, but it is inheritly less secure since anything on your device could ipen any pirt to any connection for any reason unless specifically blocked by your firewall.

it is always a good idea to close the doors to your house if you arent using them and dont want anyone else to use them. it is never a good idea to have them all open to anyone who asks

Anything but qBittorrent is a meme

KTorrent is comfortably better.
>muh windows
Not my problem.

qBittorrent is the meme

do you mean the lights in your computer glowing? or are you worried about glowniggers? the very second you connect to a public tracker your information becomes available to the tracker and is therefore public info. If you think this somehow stops when you sleep, or that they can only find you if you are actively connected, you are dead wrong. Logs are kept of everyone who connects and what they download to assist with ensuring you get the correct pieces of each torrent. But if you're a schizo this means that anyone at the tracker or a higher authority has access to all relevant information used in sending you a file over a peer to peer protocol.

What am I seeing here?
But answering the question, I recommend Deluge.
