Asus RT-AC68U
No need for that thread.
I use whatever the fuck I want, retard. What is this shit, help desk?
uhhh based
Not until they stop that passive poe shit.
Linksys E8450

Abject retardation
fuck you
Thoughts?
Hey, I'm not the one who sold you a router that'll never be supported in mainline.
So, I can replace this router easily?
Should I call my ISP?
AFAIK, Comcast doesn't rent out cable modems w/o router. You can buy approved cable modems/telephony gateways though. Or, you can set it to bridge mode.
>can i replace this anonymous gray box
Sure, I have like 5 brown ones from Amazon in the recycling pile. Help yourself.
What OS can it run? I assume not pfsense?
Ok nerd, now set up a VLAN.
so uh.. can I just buy a new router, plug it in and have it function like the one my ISP gave me?
no, you'll need to call your overlords and tell them to let through your new MAC, then it will function better
is the performance difference significant?
> no mikrotik
Hap ac2
$79 and can fq codel up to 200 MBit/s
Hap ac3
$109 and has a quad core cpu and 256 RAM. Its wifi will drown out all radio signals in your neighborhood at stick setting, and if you install OpenWRT, you will have 4 bar wifi on the fucking moon.
Routeros (stock OS) is linux based and pretty good. Try it. If you do reflash a wrt (mikrotik has ridiculously good wrt and sense compatibility) try to keep the license key. For later. You won't know.
