One of them at my uni would silently sit in voice chats on my uni's CS discord and hear students in his class share quiz answers. It wasnt until near the end of the quarter he said anything in vc and people immediately left after they recognized his voice. About a dozen students ended up failing the class for cheating

I have a very successful career in software engineering after getting my cs degree with a passing grade average. there were multiple courses I didn’t do a single assignment for and just cheated non-stop. Does it make you seethe knowing you tried so much harder only to end up at the same point in life as me? uni is just for a piece of paper, not to learn. I don’t need to know how to write in assembly or bubblesort, yet that’s all cs students are taught.

Agreed, and that piece of paper is basically worthless in software engineering these days. Employers have become well aware that it's a completely useless metric of competency in programming.

Fucking idiot copied my work to bring to the professor instead of his own. We both narrowly escaped disciplinary action because he didn't actually try to submit the work and was genuinely looking for help, but we both got a pretty stern warning.
