Who the fuck is getting 3070s for $500 lol fuck off

I’m looking at two different RAM kits, on is low profile and the other isn’t. The low profile one is $20 more. The case I’m going to be building in is small. This is my first build and I don’t know much. Is the low profile worth spending $20 more on? Just on the chance clearing might be an issue with the non low profile

how huge is the better raytracing, DLSS, (what else?) that NVDA has over AMD? because I'm looking out for deals for Nvidia GPUs and the decently priced ones are already sold out
like how cheap does an AMD equivalent have to be for it to be a better buy? The DLSS thing sounds really good but apparently not very good in fast-paced motion anyways?
what resolution do you game on? if you're at 4k DLSS is super nice but at 1080p it's largely pointless meme tracing is a meme but fun to have in some games also nvidia just has better performance relative to AMD at higher resolutions I game at 4k so I wouldn't get the 6800 XT over the 3080 until at about maybe a 20% discount for example but ymmv

>how huge is the better raytracing, DLSS, (what else?) that NVDA has over AMD? extremely. DLSS quality is practically indistinguishable from native, especially without taking screens/zooming/pixel peeping and sometimes its actually better than native (the ai repairs aliasing) FSR is just a decent upscaling algo. its not horrible by any means, but its very visible that you are upscaling
>like how cheap does an AMD equivalent have to be for it to be a better buy? imo at least 30% cheaper for equal raster perf nvidia gives you DLSS but also better perf in older titles that use opengl/dx11 and also better perf in emulation and also a much better history of driver stability
and ofc if you need the productivity/streaming stuff (nvenc/cuda/rtx voice), nvidia is obligatory.

>DLSS quality is practically indistinguishable from native this is not really true in the general case DLSS is more often than not noticeably less sharp than native rendering

not from the screens i've seen even comparing screens side by side its hard to tell i invite the original asker to look for comparisons by themselves

my rm850x is silent and the fan doesn't even go on unless there is a super high power draw (which is basically never, I have no 3090)

>what resolution do you game on? I'm basing that decision based on what gpu i can get at a fair price. Ideally I do want an upgrade to 1440p 144hz since it's been over 5 years since I built my last desktop, but I don't mind saving money and upgrading to a 1080p 144hz
Right now I'm definitely leaning over NVDA since they're still the leader in GPUs, but I just don't like getting ripped off I'm just worried that crypto will rally again if I wait for supplies to recover a bit more

both Gamers Nexus and LTT have done videos comparing it, it's generally pretty obvious also I've tried it in a few games myself, most notably Cyberpunk and God of War, it's not a huge difference but native is clearly preferable
