Be aware that this OP is an AMDrone spam OP, posted by one person long before the old thread hits its bump limit

3080 12GB beats the 6900 XT at 4K, no Ti needed
3060 Ti competes with the 6700 XT
and the 5900X is $125 overpriced relative to the 12700F

Nice old 12 game cherry pick
I'll raise you to a recent 50 game survey

Be aware
You should own stock in all the big tech companies
That way you don't have to be a whiney little brand faggot on the internet.
And instead make money when they make money

I speak truth to little bitches like you
You can't handle it so you call me whiny, except you're a retard so you spell it whiney

Are there any equivalents to the RX 6600 that are the same price or cheaper right now? I've heard it's overpriced even at MSRP but it really seems like the only good option and my friend really likes his.

Not like this...

Attached: 1624397242601.jpg (394x394, 106.61K)

My friends are laughing at me when I said I was going to build a desktop with a 6600.... Mind you one of my friends got a super high-end GPU for free as a prize from some canadacomputers event.. i have to pay at over +100% MSRP because crypto still hasn't fucking crashed!!!!!

im being peer pressured to spend 600 dollars more for the next step up + 1440p monitor, should i just give in

IF you can afford it, why not? You'll be happier in the end. Maybe wait for prices to lower even more? Also DLSS is crazy, so probably go nvidia.

i thought it would be better to match AMD CPU + AMD GPU or is that retarded

was planning to go with 5600x as a CPU, have been a fan of AMD Ryzen especially with how much money TSM+XLNX stocks made me

>bought a 3080 10 GB 16 months ago
>sold it yesterday for $1400
>bought a Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC 12 GB for $1050 off amazon
who /pcbg-biz/ here

eBay prices make no sense at all. I've been checking completed listings and people are paying a lot more for used cards when they can get brand new stuff for cheaper.

actually just sold it on craigslist
but yea seems like a lot of people haven't been paying attention to the price drops of the last few weeks

My brother needs a good laptop for uni, he says he'd like to work with python, R which I think is some math program and office, the problem is I'm not too knowledgeable about laptops, could you help me or at least tell me where I should ask?

Could someone pleasr take a look at the sapphire pulse rx 6600 and the sapphire pulse rx 6600 Lite and tell me if there's any significant difference between the two? Seem to be the same size and weight so why call it Lite? I'm buying one of these so I'm curious.

the newer thinkpads unironically, my T480s was nice, just make sure to get it with their -40% "deals" (their real price) or whatever student discouint they can get

build quality is your priority, even if the new thinkpads are below what the IBM Thinkpads used to be, they're also cheaper than what those IBM shit came out costing decades ago, and they're better than consumer-tier laptops where the chassis/panels will probably break off bit by bit within months of commuting, or be salvageable if you spill coffee on it

Specs are meh, but you build desktop if you want to be cost-efficient on specs. If they're just doing general productivity shit then they don't need a discrete GPU in a laptop

>python, R which I think is some math program and office
R is a shitty wannabe Python programming language really popular in statistics for some reason beyond my understanding
anyway just get him a macbook air, it's by far the best laptop available in the price range and unless he's using Linux MacOS is a far better developing environment than Windows

I managed to snag an Asus 3070 KO for $790 Canadian on Newegg. I have to build an entire PC and I was underestimating just how expensive it is, jesus. How can I lower cost? If at all.

ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Qjgdmr

that motherboard is unnecessarily expensive, that ssd is pretty fancy, if you don't know why you need 32GB of ram you probably don't, that PSU and case are also pretty premium
nothing specifically wrong with this build but there's definitely room for cost cutting if you want to

What motherboard would you recommend then?

What is premium about the PSU and case? Could I get a 750w bronze instead?

no the worst thing you can do is cheap out on a PSU. you can get a better mobo for the price though. try to get 4x8 gb of ram

>RTX 3070 ti now costs under $1000 instead of $2000+
>and is actually in stock
HOLY SHIT, what the fuck did I miss? I've been waiting to upgrade from my R9 380 for fucking years, is this year finally the fucking time?

No really what did I miss? I checked bitcoin and it's still $46K so crypto hasn't crashed yet, or have I just been conditioned to think ~$800 is ""cheap"" for an RX 3070ti when it's prob still fucked?
