However, if I had the money, I wouldn't do it. 450 watts is just too much. I'm sitting here in my briefs because my setup is drawing about 300watts right now and it's too hot in here. There's no way in hell I'm going to accept heating the air I breathe with roughly 820 watts of electricity.
Not gonna happen. GPUs may draw 100 watts max and everything above that is garbage for home usage.

I don't think you have much connection with reality. Nvidia is the giant in the GPU duopoly, posting record profits. Sure, "On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero," but that's not the situation we're considering here. Nvidia is the behemoth on the forefront of corporate automation, so it's well poised to usher in the next age
