HOW THE FUCK IS 8K STILL NOT A THING

You can't even distinguish between 1440p and 4k in 28 inche monitors...

it is a thing you retarded piece of shit.

Its a niche.

Even 4K is not a popular thing yet.

Diminishing returns to extra resolution beyond 4k
Also in terms of video games, requires 4x the computing power of 4k to render 8k

I like to see the pixels, myself

Right now 8k tv’s use a 4k 60hz signal and upscales it to 8k 60hz. There is talk of the 4090 being able to do full 8k gaming.

>GTX 1060 most popular GPU
>most popular VRAM configuration: 8 GiB
Ah yes. The good ol' faithful GTX 1060 w/8 GiB of VRAM.

Hell diminishing returns of 4k over 2k over 1080p
The latter point doesnt even go into the massive storage/bandwidth bloat this shit introduces for something many people cant even distinguish over "fullHD"
Its a meme, a meme to sell shitty TVs when the one on your wall was perfectly fine.

>1060 = 7%
>8GB VRAM = 23%
My friend from Burgeristan, please vote for someone who will care about children's education. Do you want your children to be mathlets like their dad?

it is, just very very niche
there's a dell 32inch 8k monitor, but its insanely priced
more practically, there's a couple 55inch 8k TVs that i think are worth actually buying

lel
you can, if you're not blind

>Diminishing returns to extra resolution beyond 4k
yes, for 27/32inch
at >40inch, its worth it to get retina-tier ppi again
>Also in terms of video games, requires 4x the computing power of 4k to render 8k
ofc we are at least a couple of gens away from running games at 8k high refresh
we don't even have connectors that can pass 8k high refresh signal through right now
the current best workaround is 8k/60hz panel that can also do 4k/120 (and 1440p/120, 300% scaling)

lol, no, they are proper 8k.
they do upscale media most of the time, since hardly any is at 8k
but if you connect a pc, you get legit 8k.

Gamers prioritise fps over resolution.

kek at West
Japan and South kore have been broadcasting 8k TV since 2020. why you so slow?

Third world is not a nothingburger.

Where is 1600x1200, gods resolution?

Based pixel connoisseur

There's nothing worth watching.

>>Diminishing returns to extra resolution beyond 4k
>yes, for 27/32inch
at 8k at that size you pretty much eliminate the fuckup for running non native res due to the pixelmatrix or whatever, pretty much flawless scaling
so not useless
LOOK IT UP!
"diminishing returns" can mean anything for retards the days + eyelets

2k is 1080p

>ad hominem
Hey take the L sweetie

I thought 1440 was marketed as 2k? so 1080 > 1440(2k) then 2160 (4k) ?
I dont even fucking know with this shit.

>1440p in 2nd place
the chads know where its at

Also, just look at the steam survey, almost 70% of people are just running a normal 1080p monitor
We've reached a point where a lot of the general population got to 1080p60hz and decided that was basically enough

some absolute retards market 1440p stuff as 2k, but 2k is officially 2048x1080 and has been for decades.

1440p could reasonably be called 2.5k

>1366 x 768 still beating 4k in popularity
ITS DEAD JIM

I miss my 1080p TV, I have a 65 4k one my pc is hooked up to so I dont get tech neck haunched over a desk for hours but if I output to 1080 it shits the bed and the DPI scaling is fucking horrendous at 4k.

I wish I could watch F1 races in 8k, that would be awesome.

1440p is optimal for a monitor

>1080p60hz and decided that was basically enough
majority of all gayman monitors start at 1080p for high refresh, then 1440p and 4k just began trickling in
imagine the ppi
shit 140ppi doesnt even look that good
180+ might look a bit better
or higher
eyelets are truly despicable human beans
sounds like the tv is doing some retard fuckery with the scaling my mans

It says right there on the picture, tripfag. The GTX 1060 is the most widely used card according to Steam Hardware Survey; yet, 8 GiB of VRAM is the most popular config, which doesn't make sense since the 1060 only goes to 6 GiB max.

You see, the problem here is that there are hundreds of GPUs but only a handful of VRAM configurations.
You have 1GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, 10GB, 12GB, 16GB, 24GB, 32GB and that's about it.
While the 1060 is the most popular GPU, it has two uncommon VRAM configurations, 3GB and 6GB, so all the other 8GB VRAM GPUs add together to beat it when it comes to the most popular VRAM configuration.

because u dont need it

>muh vidya

i didnt ask

because only huge tv's benefit from this kind of resolution, dpi is the only metric that should be taken into account while judging resolution of a display

Wow almost as if South America is a thing.
