Give it to me straight. Would anyone buy an Ultima 1 clone in this day and age?

probably yes. ultima is old enough that you'll have some people who'll check it out for nostalgia (if yours is close to the original), but you'll also have lots of people who've never played ultima.
if your game is just fun in its own right, you don't need to innovate much.

what language should i learn to make my engine in, i heard c is for trannies

How can I make a game without learning any programming?
>inb4 learn
no

i want to use C++ to make a 2D game similar to Into the Breach, with world exploration elements similar to Tales of Maj'Eyal or Caves of Qud
BUT
i'm doing webdev right now and it takes up almost all of my mental energy for coding
one day i'll work on my game who knows

There actually exists a kickstarter of an Ultima 1 clone. Step up your game.

I want to make a lowpoly game that can run above 60fps on very minimal hardware but Unity and Unreal have too much overhead, so I guess I'm going to have to figure out how to make a game from scratch.

Take the godot pill

ClickFusion is a good program, but its paid software so

I want to make a game in godot where the monsters know about their surroundings is it enough to use raycasts for that and can that scale or do I need to research spatial partition? Aiming for like ~10k entities with complex interactions.

C# 3D Engine on CPU, the gif is a visual bug xd

Are you the user who asked in the last thread about events and behavior trees?

nope

Well, to answer your question: 2D or 3D?

Man I really want to learn and create a game with that Windows 3d Maze feel. It's prime comfy

>i want to make a game but am too stupid for programming
