How many tabs did you open retard

about 5000 inactive tabs, maybe 50 open

I suggest you visit about:processes, it lets you sort by memory usage and will expose which process is leaking

nice, i used some other about: page previously but that one never matched up
i have restarted since but right now it's at 8gb used, dunno what this 9gb is

If there's a lot of tabs with video or heavy animations, their memory usage will get grouped into the gpu processes (GPU access is done from a dedicated process to make the sandbox stronger and exploits harder)

alright well that's annoying, and most tabs seem to have little memory usage

>let's call them glowniggers

>GPU access is done from a dedicated process to make the sandbox stronger and exploits harder
Firefox has no separate GPU process
madaidans-insecurities.github.io/firefox-chromium.html

Firefox has a GPU process on all platforms but its only enabled on windows and Android by default

It's not enabled on Windows
bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1347710

It is. Open Firefox on Windows, visit about:processes, you will see the GPU process is enabled. Bugzilla is not a source of truth

Issues trackers are not source code, yes.
