What is the best aspect ratio for productivity if you have only one screen?
Was moving away from 4:3 to 16:9 displays a mistake?
Is it true that resolution is much more important that aspect ratio in this case?

Kindly forgive for possible mistake: I am ESL.

I don't need less or more than 16:9.
Also fuck 4:3

kindly get off this board poojeet

16:9 is superior. Don't be a retard. Don't bee the boomer that bought "fullscreen" VHS cassettes and DVDs because they filled the 4:3 CRT TV screen he had. Widescreen is HOR+. You get MORE horizontal space for the equivalent vertical resolution. Anyone claiming otherwise is either a retard or someone who only played games in the early 2000s and earlier when widescreen resolutions weren't thought out properly and didn't scale the field of view.

so close yet so far from 4:3

what does surface use? I like that shit the best
I'm on trains a lot, the vertical space is definitely a benefit of horizontal

4:3

3:2 afaik

what's the 3:2 laptop?

16:9 doesn't work on large monitors with high resolutions. It's almost like have two monitors.

1:1

Out of those 3:2 easily.

surface laptop

10:16

32:18

21:9, 16:10, 4:3

In that order.

16:10 is best for general, well-rounded use
3:2 is okay for web surfing, reading, typing docs
16:9 is easier to multitask on with 2 windows open side by side

It is not always the case that 4:3 releases are cropped. Lots of films were actually shot in 4:3 and then cropped into widescreen. This means that for those films the vhs release is actually the superior option and i would take it over 4k slit-vision. For films which were shot in slit vision or have no open matte release those films are unwatchable and might as well be considered lost.

first learn the keyboard/touchpad shortcuts for creating and switching to different desktops. then, stop caring about which ratio is best for productivity.

7:2, 5:3, 4:3

In that order

This, dragonballz was one of those series i seen with the worst edits, like they barely tried.

i like 3:2 a lot on laptops. probably the main reason i dont regret falling for the framework meme

this, it all boils down if you want to have one window active at a time or two, to each their own

Films have been shot in an even narrower slit-vision for decades fucktard. It's just media companies don't care to save the original film so when the time comes for a 4k rerelease 60 years later they use a smaller film or god forbid some stupid shit like vhs.
