lads, is i5-6300u usable in windows10? there's a relatively cheap yoga 260 in my area but I'm worried it might not be powerful enough, also it doesn't have a dedicated gpu
if not, is a i5-7200u that much better?

My T420 is showing its age and I’ve rather ruined it by flashing coreboot = constant problems.

I’ve been thinking about a used X series for its size. I’d prefer something Upgrade able/hack able.

Any suggestions?

How does flashing coreboot affect it?

They probably didn't compile it with the right flags.

Got two refurb "new" condition T440p, I5-4300M/8GB/120GB.
Are these good candidates to rice with quads and screen upgrades or should I keep looking?

ok /tpg/, i need your help
i need a laptop exclusively for work
>ssd preferably
>fastest possible processor
>most possible ram
>no gpu necessary
where do i look

whats wrong with the L or E series of thinkpads? they are pretty cheap

I have a 6300u in my x270 and it's fine, just make sure you've got a decent amount of ram and a ssd. Plus I don't think there's that much difference between 6th and 7th gen.

Turns out that they keyboard is stuffed. Reflashing back to stock didn’t help.

I’m still keen on a newer smaller X series so any suggestions welcome.

is it worth getting a wifi antenna for my laptop? of course i say this because the reception on my laptop isnt too good. What should i look for in an USB wifi antenna? Is alfa network a good brand?

they're a meme unless you're really, really far away from the base station

kek ... looks like a shop in Akihabara I used to haunt. The whole place has places like this. Its fucking awesome.

Just bought a W530 with an i7 3740QM, 12GB RAM(4 slot) and an SSD. what am I in for? It was 150. Good deal? It only has the 720p screen.

It was usable for 15 minutes before I installed 7. In all seriousness though, 10 consumer roughly the same about if resources as 7 as long as it's not updooting and the antivirus is turned off. 6th gen Intel is now than enough.

what resolution should I use on an external monitor for my x200 core 2 duo
1080p works but its a bit choppy
should I use like 900p or something?
