>any year
>not maxxing out your memory slots
fucking losers

you're a retard who never entered his own bios

ok what do i do

you shouldn't be buying a consumer board with more than 2 dimms in the first place

sauce?

enable xmp

enter your bios, enable xmpp to hit the speed it was rated for

if you want to get into actual overclocking you need to read up yourself, its way too complicated and different depending on each board/generation

my 2-dimm board takes 32+32GB, bitch.

manufacturing anything lower than 16GB dimms should be illegal

Meh it could be worse, I regularly use a machine with 1066mhz DDR3. ECC too so it's even slower than regular consumer DDR3. I really don't notice a big difference between that and my Ryzen machine which has 3200mhz DDR4. I fucking love cheap server decom ewaste ram. All my machines are maxed out

ok but idk why ur telling me

he's on ddr4 with those timings and he has no idea what ddr means, that's why he's on about 1066

because you're implying that people should get boards that support less ram

thanks, i wonder how much of a difference its going to make
if its really noticeable im gonna be angry that i didnt do this for 2 years

>buy dual socket xeon mobo
>it's got 8 dimm slots
>16gb dimms are like $40/ea
>8gb dimms are $15/ea
>128gb of ram is a shitload
>64gb of ram is also a shitload
>can either pay $320 for a shitload of ram or $120 for a shitload of ram
>decide to go with a shitload of ram

it supports the same amount, it just doesnt split up the traces and requires less phases for better results. consumer board cpus only have 2 memory channels, look at what's happening with z690 boards when you try to go beyond 2 sticks

it is comfy having 118 tabs open whilst consooming vidya, don't see what the big deal is.
