Because my bandwidth can handle it and i dont have to wait to watch movies/series i wont be bothered with again.

im honestly surprised it's still up and running, its basically reachable even by dump whores with disney+

wtf is this? another plex?

too stupid
too brown
too poor

Stremio looks like a honeypot. Every single service that does what Stremio does has been taken down quickly, yet this one is able to continue for years and even publish an app on the Play Store.

I wouldn't use that thing. Not even in a sandbox.

>How does Stremio sustain it's development operations? We run non-intrusive ads through AdEx, which is a company by the same founding team that focuses on privacy preserving, transparent ads.

AdEx (which now has another name) is some sort of crypto linked bullshit based on a couple of crypto token shit. Is there advertising in the Stremio applications themselves? Also I can't see why not to use this over something like Kodi or Jellyfin

You have a girl over, do you
Torrent:
>search for a movie on your sketch Russian website and get a few porn results so you search again. She's a bit creeped out now.
>Movie then takes 20 minutes to download. She's getting bored.
>"Um annon, why don't we just get it on Netflix? this site seems sketchy I think it has viruses you can use me acco-"
>"NUUU MUH MUH MUH DRM BLOAT BASEDWARE HDJSJNXHDHJAJJAIHVVVZVZVXBJ!!!"
Stremio:
>Search for anything easily, no nsfw results.
>Start watching immediately.
>Just werks. So easy even a disney+ user with with two braincells or less can us it.
>"Wow annon, nice movie. I think ill download stremio on my iPad."

>honeypot
for what lmao? the fbi gonna come visit me for pirating the Sopranos?

>has an iPad
option 1, so she leaves without me having to kick her out

Could be. The program could be collecting metadata and uploading information from users in the background. It could install some sort of malware on your computer. I don't know, but it doesn't look trustworthy.

Same thing can be done on Kodi and/or Jellyfin. Now maybe Streamio is also valid, but until I figure out what kind of ad and crypto bullshit they use and how intrusive it is, where it is etc.. I'll wait.

Kodi got raped to hell and back over piracy shit. It's a shell of its former self now.

I've been using
rpi4 + kodi + seren + real debrid

which is what some user once recommended and it's great
just wanted to let my g sisters know

>jellyfin
>kodi
>plex
>whatever this is
literally just open primewire.su, type in a show name, and plug in an hdmi cable to your laptop (or use chromecast)
seriously, why would I bother with anything else? this shit takes 30 seconds and requires zero (0) downloads

Honestly ill probably be using jellyfin once I have the time to set up a self hosting device. I use stremio right now because its easy without any prior setup and it doesn't have cryptoshit as far as im aware, but I could be far too naive here.

they run ads and affiliate links for all the big streaming services like amazon and so on.

I wouldn't use it because the addons can run arbritary code just like the addons for Kodi. It's just a little bit better because not arbritary code in Python. Then you have account bullshit for a program like any video player that could work without accounts.

What are some nice addons for stremio?

Don't you ever get tired of the yify streaming rat race
setup a server
download your content
have peace

Works on my machine.

Nice, this is my exact setup too. LibreELEC just werks.
I was using Kaito a bit for anime too, but bugs and shit inspired me to write my own: github.com/pikdum/plugin.video.haru

What? It works just fine. Like anything, they can't by default include INSERT_PIRATE_ADDON_HERE on install, but there's nothing stopping you from installing anything. Kodi with Seren (and/or TheOath, Venom, TheCrew. Kaito for animu), some decent scrapers (use A4K scrapers for Saren, TheOath and Venom come with their own. Alternately, if you want to pay for Orionoid to get an independent scraping setup you can do that its cheap), and a debrid/newsbin service like Premiumize (the most expensive and comprehensive one, about $80 / YEAR. There's also RealDebrid and others which are cheaper) and you're set - watch anything and everything.

>>Movie then takes 20 minutes to download. She's getting bored.
> not being able to having an entertaining conversation for 20 minutes
What the fuck user

>Search for anything easily, no nsfw results.
sounds like a missed assist actually

Your addon is neat, user, but if you're up for it what about contributing to Kaito? It seems like there are some great anime addons for awhile but then they go out of date, the authors vanish, and people have to find another one. Kaito seems like one of the better and they could probably use your help. Note that the official Kaito 0.0.10 version has some errors but there's a testing version of 0.0.11 on their github forums you can install for now. Wish they'd hurry up and release it - the fragmentation is frustrating.

oh no, I'll just use one of the thousand other streaming services then. fuck downloading shit

lol enjoy the race rat

Where are these ads though? Are they in the applications themselves or just on the webpages? Are they in addons? Do they play ads in official content addons (ie like youtube where there's some pop up shit or whatever) supported by Stremio? Or is it just a matter of "here's our official big streaming service app, click to install it and watch Netflix here and if you sign up for an account, we get a little bonus" sort of thing?

>we get a little bonus sort of thing
yes, affiliate. maybe they sell your viewing statistics too.
