I think mpv uses too much resources compared to mpc-hc. Video quality is the same, at least to human eye.

I tried it, don't like the UI and it closes the video right after

enable hardware acceleration because it is disabled by default. mpc-hc has it enabled by default. mpv has d3d11 renderer built in, compared to mpc-hc stucked with evr-cp, will be matter when playing new codec

I'm trying to generate SRT subs, and there are some unofficially supported features such as
