i wrote a recursive algorithm that generates these things. there are about 20 parameters i can modify to influence the output.

the algorithm can generate a wide variety of aesthetics.
the screenshots i'm posting are basically just using a single preset of the 20 parameters used to influence the output. not really demonstrative of the variety of possible output, but neat nonetheless.

in these particular ones i'm posting, there are literally thousands, in some instances tens of thousands of lines/curves to generate and render, and in js with the api it can render basically instantaneously.
pretty impressive.
