My temps are unusually high for an X230, I'm seeing 10c+ what I usually expect but the wifi card screw is stripped and I can't lift the mobo to get to the cpu.... hell

thought

Why should I buy an x230 over an x220? Only buying an x220 because cope on x200 models costing too much second hand.

Just a bit of an update on the T400 I've been trying to get running : got a used LED screen, took the cable from it and combined with a T61 inverter and screen, I've now got a working screen but the backlight doesn't turn on, if I understand correctly the old style CCFL motherboards don't have backlight fuses and since I've tried with several inverters is it safe to assume the cable itself is fucked?

I got a new keyboard for my x201 and everything works perfectly beside the enter key. Its way too sensitive. Even just sliding my finger over it already activates it. Any way to fix that?

i fcking hate the x220/x230 touchpads, yea yea ik who uses the touchpad (ME i do)

I need a cheap thinkpad for remote work

T420/30 or X22/30

what am I getting for what ball park price?

a decent functionable machine that should get you by if your work isn't too demanding
check your local used electronics store. my area has some listed low as $60 bare bones

Ive never done remote work. Im thinking of quitting my job and doing something easy like data entry or something similar. I have a 2016 Microsoft access certification from high school. Im pretty sure its not up to par though. Im just looking around and seeing what I may need to by in case I bite the bullet.

thats a relief. could you point me to where they are please?

aliexpress

I just got a brand new P17, any recommended backpacks that can fit this thing? (and also be allowed as carry on luggage)
