no reason to recommend 3060 Ti over 6700 XT bitchass

I just doubled my ram from 16gb 3200 cl16 to 32gb 3200 cl16...
3300x, EVGA 2060 KO, SN550
I think I'll upgrade to a 5700x at the start of next year

Just bought a 12900K. Currently have a GTX970. Does changing to an RTX2060 make sense?

DLSS is a lot better than any other upsampling technique at 1440p, considering the limited about of data points available. At 4K you can even use basic resolution scaling to a point without noticing image degradation, but at 1440p any simple resolution scaling quickly becomes noticeable. I only use Unreal's TAAU (better than FSR) at about 83%. DLSS is a major benefit of the 3060 Ti over the 6700 XT considering the wide game support.

Right now the 6700 XT is slightly cheaper, around 15%, so I'm considering adding it back in. If it stays that much cheaper, I probably will.

I think it's about 20% faster on average. Plus you get Freesync support and DLSS. Although why you're considering pairing a midrange card from 3 years ago with a $600 workstation CPU is beyond me.

no, not really
its an upgrade, for sure
but the end of the gpu holocaust is coming quickly
wait for a couple of months, get a msrp 3070
you'll be set for a few years at 1440p/144hz

Anyone?

How are AMD CPUs comparing to Intel CPUs in general? Say I want a computer primarily for gaming and web browsing with some occasional very light video editing plus 3D modeling. What should I get?

Who are you going to trust? A guy with multiple OC world records or some drive by poster?
With that said, I don't see the point in "budget Z690". If you want to OC the shit out of your chip for extreem FPS you'd want something with more juice. If you want to save money you go with a locked CPU and B660.

Currently Intel is better pretty much all around but you could also wait for AM5 or Raptor Lake.

>I only use Unreal's TAAU (better than FSR) at about 83%
To put this in perspective, that means I'm running at about 2125x1195 when I use TAAU at 83% with a target res of 2560x1440. This is slightly higher than the input resolution of Ultra Quality FSR, while providing better image quality for a given input resolution. I'm not saying FSR is unusable at 1440p if you're below a playable framerate, but it's a last resort.

I've been looking around and the only B660s I find are either shitty mATX with no IO ports or priced as high as if not higher than Z690s, so I thought I might as well go with the better chipset and keep the oc option open for a possible future upgrade to Raptor Lake.

Well if you've got no other options it's not really a question. Why can't you order online btw? Siberia?

I have no idea how to choose a motherboard.

So far I'm going for a i5 12600k + 3080 ti build.
Is a Z690 the best choice even if I'm not interested in overclocking? Or it's better to settle for a B660? If so, which one would you suggest?

(as I posted earlier, I'm considering the k version because it's the cheapest CPU with integrated graphics and 10 cores, the 12700 is almost 100$ more expensive and doesn't look like it's worth it overall)

I am ordering online, user.
I've only been looking at italian shops though, if anyone knows about european shops worth using I'd be glad to try.
alternate.de decided to stop shipping to Italy once they put up their shitty localised site with marked up prices and I've been out of trusted alternatives ever since.

So there's about a €50 difference. Or about €100 with the CPU.
If you already have the chip, get the Z690. It's fine. Otherwise it's a bit of a hard sell.

Im the guy that bought the 4000D and the RM850W PSU because his pc was overheating with that shit case I had. Im building it right now and I was wondering if I should put the psu fan up or down for the best airflow.

Would it be worth replacing my 970 with a 6500 on a PCI E gen 3 MB?

It doesn't really matter so long as there's a vent for it on both sides. Especially as an 850W PSU will barely be running the fan 99% of the time.

fan down
you want it pulling fresh air from outside the case
there should be a cutout and a filter on the bottom of the case
