good lord the simplicity of xfce like this is what Linux should all strive to be. I finally found my desktop after trying a LOT of other DEs. Desktop icons, drag and drop, it is simple enough while being complete... why didn't I switch to this sooner!?!

I really like Xubuntu's spin on XFCE so far. The fonts all look really nice and properly spaced without being cramped or too far apart. The UI is pleasant without being flat, nor too gawdy. It feels professional and familiar enough that my smoothbrain can wrap itself around. It looks like what XP and 7 SHOULD have been. Microsoft should take notes and make Windows look like XFCE, I hated that the bar was on top but I moved it down to the bottom where it belongs. The Start menu is good. I might configure Debian with this or just switch to Xubuntu, and compile kernel 5.17 for it.

Literally everything is modernist minimalist bullshit.
I want the themes that were around 2010 but ported to also work for GTK3/4 applications.
