im currently running a i7 4770k with a gtx 1070 and am playing on a 1080p 144hz panel. wanna upgrade my cpu etc since i can slowly start to feel how my cpu is holding back my gpu (elden ring wont stay at >50fps for example) and this is what im planning to get. want this to last atleast another 4 years or so except maybe upgrading graphics card and getting nvme storage (for this build i will just take my old storage which is 250gb ssd and 1tb hdd). any suggestions?
its fine personally, i would opt for the non-f 12400, the igpu is a nice insurance to have, and not too pricey also, im not fond of the dark rock pro. imo swap it with a scuthe fuma 2 or better yet a noctua u12s (ideally not the redux version, unless the savings are very significant)

Should I upgrade my 2600 since I have a RX 6800 at 3440x1440p or is it a waste of money? I have an 6800k lying around as a server if that’s any better

>spent 3 hours trying to install my mobo and stuff into a new case >connect what I think is everything correctly >the front IO pins are installed correctly in the JFP1 thing >plug it in >thing doesn't turn on >flip the power switch into the other position because I'm too retarded to know which one is the on position >still doesn't turn on
What the fuck do I do now, /pcbg/

what are your reasons for disliking the dark rock pro? if i swap the cpu to the non-f and get one of those two coolers u listed price would be up by around 50€ and id like to stay closer to 600 as good as i can
Christian Brooks
also i mistyped it myself but its a pure rock 2 not a dark rock pro
Dominic Peterson
the dark rock is as large and as expensive as the nh-d15, and not as good also, at that price, AIOs beat the shit out of both of them for performance, while also being much easier to work with/around
the pure rock 2 is also kinda shit. iirc its hardly better than the good amd included coolers the ones i recommended are definitely much better for not that much more money

press the button on PSU

really, are there good aios at that price? last time i was looking into pc building (probably like 1-2 years ago) i feel like aios were way more expensive for same performance but just looked better and are silent. but i feel like anything too big is just overkill for the i5 12400
Jaxon Mitchell
I did. It's not turning on. What steps should I try to take to fix this?
Easton Flores
the the price of the dark rock pro, yes (around 100 shekels) at the price of the pure rock, no, i wouldn't buy any if i found them at that price :D
Easton White
Whichever is cheaper. That being, a WD black against a SG barracuda. Or maybe just go with WD blue and its seagate equivalent considering that HDD performance is irrelevant.
I think I'll just take it into some store and see if they can fix it. I'm too new to figure this shit out.
When I turn on the power supplt nd hit the onswitch there's a slight surge in the light source in my room, like it normally does when I switch my PC on, so I know power is switching on, but it isn't doing anything. No lights, not fan spin ups.
Ian Perez
Do a PSU paperclip test. I did it for the first back when I was 13. Really hard to fuck it up unless you do something stupid like touching the clip while its running (youd probably die)
