Are you also afraid of using large HDDs?

did you know that sizes like 8TB and 14TB are typical now?

yeah it's called backups you fat mongoloid

>he doesnt make bdxl m-disc backups

all my anime is stored on a single 2tb hdd on my desk right now
I'm actually paranoid about it breaking but its only a few months old, I'm going to buy another one from a different company to make a backup of the backup
i'd like to try doing a RAID 1 although i have no idea how yet

Then use a 2tb SSD schizo

I dont go higher than 2TB for a similar reason. I feel the 2's are just sweet spot for reliability.
It's all anime before you ask.

consider the following:
>2x 20TB
>1 is a backup of the other
now you have better reliability than any single 2TB drive. upon failure you don't need to redownload 2TB worth of shit, merely replace the drive. you only use 2 SATA ports instead of 10. you don't have media split between drives at random points messing with organization outside of a management program

I use floppy disks, if one fails I only lose 1.44 MB of data instead of 2 TB

This nigga is so retarded
The risk of losing 2TB of data is better than never being able to actually store anything.

>M-Disc
Ultimate midwit snake oil. Regular Blu-rays are just as long-lasting as M-Discs.

There are even scarier.

If your backup HDD breaks, you lose 2 TB worth of backups. Think about it.

>backup to multiple cloud services (B2, glacier, etc) in case one of them dies
>use RAID6 so you won't have to pay restore fees in case a disk or two fails
>use snapshotting filesystem to mitigate user error or ransomware
There, with this you should only have to pay the restore jew in case of fire, niggers, or similar destructive force of nature hitting your server

>don't pay the storage jew, goy
>pay the cloud jew with your data instead

raid5? From experience, the intel's controller integrated in some mb is good enough for storage, can't tell about amd.

I only have 2GB of data.

we don't want to know about your haruhi fanfics

Just set up RAID.

Please post your Haruhi fanfics, user :3

either free yourself from this fear, make a copy or do not store anything but don't come with such stupid question
it's probably shit content anyway

lel im in the exact same boat, I did have a backup drive but it started failing
it was 13 years old though and it was stored in a damp shed for 4 years so it's not like it died all of a sudden for no reason

It's simple, do a RAID 0 across 6 drives
RAID 0 stripes your data, meaning each of the 6 drives only gets part of the data (1/6th to be exact)
So if one drive fails, you lose only 1/6th of your data

>lose 1/6 of each file on your drive
what now?
