>bank apps with burguer menu

It does. Cope harder, Plex shill.
>imagine having to pay for the privilege to use your own GPU for transcoding

Plex is even worst.

Fuck this entire stack. Untested, slow dogshit. Anyone who likes is either not the one maintaining the cluster or a payed shill.
Fuck this cancer.

I can confirm. I built out the cluster and now have to support it. It shits the bed at random times for random reasons. Getting a node to rejoin the cluster is so fucking slow

Just werks for me but I am using an AMD GPU and have very few extensions for gnome.

Works on my machine. Highly recommended. Integrates beautifully with Tauon Music Box as well. Mobile app is also tits.
I've heard Jellyfin is working on a massive overhaul that should be coming out relatively soon. But for me, even in it's current state it's amazing.
tl;dr OP a big 'ol dumb dumb.

Fucking lol, didn't know that.

Jellyfin issues: If you like stupido upgrade to alpha/beta versions and then try another upgrade or downgrade it will most often break the sqlite tables - as upgrade process lacks "if exists" so updates may fail if you run from dev branches to final release branch..

Alternatives: Plex - literal garbage. The login... oh my god what a shit. I understand people had no choice at first - but just the login makes Jellyfin the best available media center.

Jelly works great for me as media center, and replacement for netflix, and such.

I'm running a large 24TB JellyFin based Porn server with many customers.

Works just fine, just have to test and RETEST new versions, and backup Metadata a lot, and ensure the .NFO files, graphics, etc. are stored within each movie folder.

How's the performance?
I guess your server has to handle a lot more playback seeking than normal media servers.

PLEX is only used for a friend group since it has much broader support, but even our relatives are tired of the PLEX business model and constant Jewish addons and their offerings.

if he uses gpu transcode he can handle a lot of streams from very few gpu's. (A single 1660 can handle around 8 streams, without even utilizing 30% - there's a hard limit made by nv based on model)

I love the interface and the way it organizes the kino and is way easier to pick a kino to watch. But I hate the browser player. All the files are stored local so no need to stream it. I tried to use the mpv plugin, but it didn't work and I have no idea why...
I want to use the interface just for sorting and none of the streaming bullshit and use a mpv to play the videos locally. Does anyone have any idea how to accomplish that or how to fix mpv-shim?

use an older Optiplex i7 that runs an old 1080 for transcoding. Frontier fiber line and so far runs pretty great.

Where did you got the porn metadata?
Does it work with split/stand alone scenes or just complete DVD sets?

Fucken Jellyfin. Had problems with it since the day I started using it. At least on my TV. Last few days were better after the new update, but we'll see. On desktop though it's pretty smooth ride, especially with mpv shim. Could use better file scanning.

the metadata comes the TMDB - I have an account there and if you name it right it will pull the data, other wise I update and contribute to TMDB, rather than IMDB.

Why does the jellyfin Android tv app crash during playback when using https with it?
