>fresh install os
>weird stuff happening for a few days
>finally bsod, memory management
>memtest86, one of the ram sticks is completely fucked and was silently corrupting everything
reminder to memtest your build before installing os

how?

>how
google memtest86, it lets you create a bootable usb, you then boot from usb and it automatically starts the tests, it does them 4 times but if your shit is broken youll know about 5 minutes in

or run tm5 in Windows. it's what overclockers use to test ram stability. stable ram overclocked or not should be able to pass an hour of the extreme test.

>bsod
That's what you get for installing Winblows

as opposed to fedora 35 bitflip revoking my write access to /home/, packagekit dying and systemd going 'i unno lol' getting bsods is preferable

big if true
4080s and 4090s should come with aios

Reposting from other thread

Here is what I could get PSU wise:
Seasonic Focus PX 850W 80+ Gold - 117€ / $129
Seasonic Focus PX 850W 80+ Platinum - 138€ / $152
NZXT C850 850W 80+ Gold - 110€ / $121
Corsair RM850 850W 80+ Gold - 125€ / $138
Which of these would be the best value for the money? Im willing to pay a little more if its worth it.

My laptop's cpu is at 80 degrees Idle with the fans blasting

What the fuck kind of laptop do you have and what OS are you running on it?

>2x8GB/2x16GB DDR4 3200/3600 CL16 DUAL RANK
Now that the Raspberry Pi has 16GB is this a joke? 32GB should be poverty tier and 64GB expected.

anybody gaming max 1080p with a 3060? are you satisfied with your decision over a 3060TI

Sure as soon as I dont have to pay $250 for 32GB ram ill consider it

what is the possibility of me even getting a 40 series card, I have a 2060 and I wouldnt mind spending the money to upgrade everything

Given you need over $1500, more like $2000 for a GPU, then what is $250 for RAM?

Im not paying that for a gpu either. But feel free to get shafted

Save your shekels for 4090 release day .. 3090's will plumet in price for a week or two. Do you really need a 4090 ? If you do then spending money for new MB/CPU/GPU/Ram shouldn't be an issue .. right !?!
