My primary uses are Any Forums, football manager and stream America first

Ps : don’t want bill gates laptops

If you're planning to download movies 512gb 8 ram
If you're planning to videos game, program or whatever: 256gb 16 ram

get a pro

always more ram, you can always get an external HDD later

>Play games
>Gaybook
Pick one fav

Also who cares. Get the one you will probably get more social points at Starbucks, it's all about who have one of it

if you keep your macbook free of random bullshit, and stick to several games, RAM for sure. if you are retarded and insist on downloading over 9000 episodes of shit, the HD. but as the other user said you can just store your extra bullshit on the HDD if you need. get the RAM imo

Why can't applel be like every laptop you can just install 1tb ssd for cheap
In fact it's so shitty there isn't even a version with 1tb ssd

you absolutely do not need 16 gb ram for anything besides gaming or video editing or 3d graphics. a bigger ssd is way more generally useful than more than 8 gb ram.

>hurr moar ram good you shouldn't save stuff to your hard drive
i guess this works in OPs case but i would kill myself if i were forced to work off a 256 gb drive. i used to use 128 gb but it became impossible to do everything i needed between all the large software i had to have installed at once and vm images and saved work i had and i already was shuffling a bunch of stuff on an external drive that was originally for my backups. using an external drive is inconvenient and uses up one of your valuable macbook ports. i upgraded from 128GB from 1TB. and I will never look back. I keep all my work, all my software, all my vms, my windows partition, all my curated porn stash, all my hoarded pdfs and lectures, all my pictures of work from the remote learning phase, all the cached shit like emacs latex previews, etc. all conveniently on one low latency and high throughput drive and still have a couple hundred gb to spare and continue hoarding. meanwhile my 8gb ram has never been a limiting factor.

256 and figure out your NAS sitiation

You can use an external SSD, you can't upgrade ram later. Get 16Gb

16 gb ram is more futureproof

I mean true, but I hardly use 4GB on a daily basis, 16GB is way future proof.

Your autism and your needy insecurity isn't our problem.

I stopped stuffing boot drives with junk years ago. NAS for working files, DVD and BR for long term storage, external ssds and HDDs for book libraries, etc. The only time i've needed extra internal storage is my windows laptop, and since i use that a lot for gayming, I put a 2tb m.2 in it, with a 500gig boot m.2. (thanks to Asus I can have 3 internal m.2s) So if Windows shits the bed - which it will, I don't have to re-install everything. I also have the Adobe Suite installed in the second ssd, with a dedicated scratch partition. Same for the Macbook - Adobe by default installs in the Applications folder, but you can put that shit anywhere.

Makes it a fuckton easier to fix shit, when it breaks. The only thing I keep long term on the boot drive is the OS, and small apps. Everything else in on the NAS, or backed up onto physical media. I can burn 100gig BRXL disks for big archives, which isn't often because I don't hoard.

I use Macs, but I don't use my MBP for long term storage, because of how easily they die from moisture. If you're trusting a Macbook for archiving and storage long term, you're a fucking moron.

16/256 no doubt

>autism and insecurity
projection, i don't even know how you get insecurity out of my post

i used NAS for a little bit but a NAS can't move out of my house. its not any harder to move computers when you hoard your stuff all on your internal drive. its as simple as copying your home folder.

If that's all you do then a Chromebook is all you need. If you want Apple hardware the cheapest thing you can get would meet your needs honestly.

I got insecurity from your autistic need to have all of your tiny data hoard with you at all times.

But I admit that you're probably just a teenager who uses what mommy bought for him, but won't give the money for things like external drives and NASs.

But again, your autism isn't our problem, or anyone's solution. And depending on a Mac for long term data storage is fucking dumb.

Why not just get a real computer instead?

I want a MBA cause it's got a nice screen, keyboard, form factor, and most importantly, NO FAN, with a good CPU.
