New OS, time is off by a minute or so

>new OS, time is off by a minute or so

Never falling for the cuck license meme again.

>install windows
>never have this problem

>Install Mac.. wait, it's already installed
>it just works

>braindead niggercattle consoomers who don't even know what ntp miss the point of the post

are you telling me linux can't even sync the time natively?
this is a joke right?

It can OP is just a retarded nigger.

>have to install garbage 3rd party software and enter cryptic commands in order to do a basic fundamental task

tell me how or your mom will die tonight

nigger windows and mac both use ntp.org for ntp (3rd party software)

it works on my machine and I'm not telling you how to fix it
hint: use systemd

>install windows
>it never syncs
>time drifts into oblivion

>install debian
>sudo apt install ntpd
>systemd job already installed
>it just fucking werks

i dont care what type of garbage software it is, the fact that something like this isnt included in the OS by default and properly configured is another reason why linux is a toy

>it never syncs
It is always in sync, there's no need to manually schedule a task to run every so often to sync the time, it just works

linux is a kernel

>Any Forums - Browsers and screenshots

>it just works
until it inexplicably fails for no reason and refuses to sync ever again. since windows is le proprietary (proprietary bad!!!!1 if you didnt already know) there is literally no way to fix it without reinstalling the OS and breaking all your delicately arranged shitware

got it. thanks my man

>until it inexplicably fails
Never happens.

i've had this problem with time drifting on wangblows for as long as i can fucking remember and i have no idea why, i had assumed that maybe my cmos battery was fucked or something but it just keeps fucking HAPPENING

the problem is with the user, not windows

My windows system would sync correctly but it would always switch itself back to GMT time on start up despite saying it was still EST. Was very odd.
Now I use Arch and don't have time issues.
