Unbackdoored desktop computing hardware

I'm looking to spend under $1k right now to dip my toes into unbackdoored hardware. Anyone have specific recommendations? I will be running all libre software on in, so I don't require x86, but GNU/Linux support is preferred, and failing that, BSD. Looking for good bang for the buck.
In the future I will may splurge for a modern POWER system, but for now I'd like something a bit cheaper.

there's no such thing as even remotely modern day hardware without a backdoor. Even the old stuff which we thought were safe because they didn't have AMD PSP or Intel ME were shown to be vulnerable to stuff like Spectre or Meltdown. At the end of the day, the only hardware without a backdoor put in is stuff made by the government specifically for the government who rely on hardware security as much as security through obscurity. Look at Russia and they're home made 80+nm node CPU's to govern their missile systems.

I pirated the latest Spiderman on my 2019 desktop with Intel and Nvidia hardware, and no one came knocking on my door. Stop being so paranoid.
