Why this thing has to cost a thousand dollars. Why can't I get something like this for cheaper that isn't a meme. This is like the only laptop I ever need.

Just get a x220.

How long can an x220 last really?

A $200 chromebook can do 99% of what most users need.

forever

You're learning what things actually cost when you stop subsidizing them with your privacy and data.

why?

name?

>Why can't I get something like this for cheaper that isn't a meme
literally
>ebay.com
>search coreboot/libreboot
>buy anything

its poorly designed from a hardware perspective
my x220 has 9 cells and its not as thick as this POS

Know that even though you're baiting, I still hate you

F-freedom?

Looks like an old powerbook, I like it
Also that lofi hiphop radio meme can go die in a fucking fire

>NXP
fuck them, they killed their Power processors just to push more ARMshit, they're dead to me

Well my T61 is 15 years old.

I bought a used enterprise thinkpad t450s for $120, put in some extra ram and a 1tb SSD.

It does everything I need in a laptop and even plays some games like Fallout NV despite not having a GPU. Feels great man

The CPU looks extremely anemic for $1300-1600.
User replaceable batteries are nice but there should be a option to buy it without them to get your own.

It uses LiFePo4, not Li-Ion so you can't just throw in any 18650, but anyway it comes with JGNE cells, do you know of any better ones? Or do you want to put in your own battery board

>Why this thing has to cost a thousand dollars
Based on how it looks, I'm going to guess the price is high because not enough people want them to get the economies of scale that you need.

>falling for the chromebook meme
user

Does this thing contain only free hardware/firmware?

as free as it gets

there's still a blob for hdmi and memory training IIRC

Well now I'm interested. What is the name of the product or brand?
