KMS with vlmcsd is objectively better. No patching at all and the server is open source. Just add the script (from KMS-VL-ALL or whatever) to scheduled tasks and forget about it. You can even strip the script to its bare essential (just the Windows key and vlmcsd instantiation) and it becomes really small.
No excuse to be replacing your bootloader with god knows what when you can have the source for everything and be certain it's clean.
