So this is the power of Chinese technology

>move chair
>socks rub the carpet
>earbuds give a static shock in my ear canals
>usb DAC crashes
>get spammed in the terminal about usb failures
it all still works though

>sit on chair
>monitor turns off

>move mouse too fast because osu
>the steel wheel gives a static shock

>the phone body is made out of steel
>plug in the charger
>call

>go get coffee in wooly socks
>come back and touch macbook frame
>screen flashes and external monitor flashes and it's colors get fucked
>USB adapter fucking dies!
Metal frames on fine electronics were a terrible idea. But not my problem in this case, company hardware.

they didnt ground the metal frame? trillion dollar company

I just don't understand how the static discharge travels from the sock/chair all the way to the monitor

me neither. As a precaution, I've switched my DAC to use only an optical connection, no more USB

>macbook
>company hardware
What the fuck? I have never heard about a company giving out macbooks to employees as work computers.

user it's very common. My friend who's an app developer has a macbook and develops on it. It's more common outside of tech companies though, you think all those fancy sales people want to sit on IBM thinkpads or flashy macbooks?

>you think all those fancy sales people want to sit on IBM thinkpads or flashy macbooks?
I remember when IBM thinkpads were the flashy thing all the worthwhile businessmen had. Are macbooks really the modern equivalent of that?

i just got the new macbook pro from my company. where tf do you work user

Depends on your target demographic, but most non-tech people prefer macbooks. They are a luxury item and seen with prestige by a lot of people, even if they are dogshit compared to equally priced competitors. So you show off your company using macbooks to display prestige, and also generally increases worker satisfaction because they get shiny expensive toys

>touch my bosses deck which is next to mine while he went to the toilet in the first week of my internship
>his macbook makes some loud cracking noise and turns off
>it broke and had to be sent in for repairs
>pretend I didn't know what happened

>connect microphone to PC
>monitor goes black for a second
I guess it's time to change the PSU

There's about 20 volts between my computer and the radiator in my room.

Bait? That's really common EVERYWHERE. It's not consoomers who payed apple to become the riches company in the world, but manipulating them sure worked

Not bait, I've never seen it.

Life must be tough in the 3rd world

I'm not in the 3rd world either. Maybe I'm just too old.
