This os alone is the reason why we have multitasking

debate me on this

Apple stole a lot of their work and integrated it into their OS thanks to Apple being the #1 ppc machines and people installing AmigaOS to it. I'd say thanks to it, MacOS has multitasking, though its a shame that Apple never paid them.

I think you got it wrong, you see, Steve Jobs knew about amiga's existence. in fact, one of the amiga's investors actually talked about this. Steve Jobs reported to repeatedly trying to hire amiga engineers. there's a massive exodus of amiga workers being treated like shit by the ceo of commodore.

I heard that those workers started working on next step so please elaborate

No you "got it wrong". Steve Jobs tried to hire Amiga's top engineers to replicate the parts of AmigaOS that would benefit MacOS. What ended up happening is that MacOS took all the parts that were a staple to Amiga, "embraced and extinguished" their work. The integration of multitasking is only 1 example. Jobs basically copied Amiga and tried to gut their dev team without even giving credit to the Commodore. Same way how Jobs copied Xerox, dude couldn't create, so he stole.

AmigaOS

be like

not really. UNIX and mainframes is the reason why we have multitasking
Amiga just brought it to the general computing.

Exec is very nice, but it has no memory protection, which is needed for stable and mature multitasking. UNIX did everything right from the start, but was only for big machines back in the day.

What the fuck

>i don't even feel any pain anymore OS

>UNIX did everything right from the start,
It did everything wrong but you don't know anything about UNIX history. You look at modern Linux or BSD and think old UNIX was like that.

>but was only for big machines back in the day.
PDP-11 was 16-bit with less RAM than Amigas had.

Such as?

Classic MacOS could have 2 apps open you retard

uhm it just did ok?

Ok i'm convinced.

sovl
why loonix is not like this

>debate me on this
no

What OS still doesn't exist but if it did it would beat windows and macos in their own game. (Not Linux)

If anyone here actually uses an Amiga or AmigaOS-like operating system I will suck your dick and sniff your balls and frot with you.

>this os alone is the reason why we have multitasking
>debate me on this

Multitasking? Sure, but fucked up so much that it's literally impossible to make it utilize multiple CPUs without completly breaking compatibility. Such a cool OS, isn't it.

Disable();
for (;;)

And dead it is.

The Lisa came out with multitasking even before the first Amiga prototype was completed, so clearly Apple knew multitasking was important. They just left it out of the Mac to keep the machine simple and affordable, or else it'd flop just like the Lisa did.
