Yes it's called NVME PCIExpress 4

raid0 pcie4 drives in a x16 lane

Just get decent SSDs.

Give it like, 40 years. There'll maybe be something faster.

you buy dramless trash

as soon as you invent it for us, user

>only 2 GB/s
Pretty slow when backing up movies. My folder is only 500 GB, but that would take at least 4 minutes with those speeds.

Just store all your data in your gpu

Almost any other drive you can buy would be slower though, the important point is that the 970 sustains that write speed from empty to until it's completely full.

my SSD does 500mb/s. my hdd does 100mb/s. sometimes I feel like I'm just stuck in the past with my tech :////

It already exists

How are you liking Gen 4 versus 3?
Just moved from a 2.5" SSD to NVME and it's a night and day difference, but I want 7000mbps....

Team is set to launch consumer PCIE Gen5 NVME drives Q3.

>4 minutes

>consumer
I'll just wait for this baby

I can't fathom how anyone would be excited about consumer shit

Consumer shit doesn't have retarded pricing or expect you to buy 500 of them at once. It's also compatible with all the other hardware you might have, where the fuck do I mount U.2 in a normal ass desktop?
>inb4 poorfag

Too slow.

>Consumer shit doesn't have retarded pricing
Debatable, you pay less but 9 times out of 10 it's also a worse SSD.
>where the fuck do I mount U.2 in a normal ass desktop?
In a 2.5in slot with a dilinker m.2 cable or in an add in card adapter.
Not my problem U.2 was basically shunned from consumer hardware.

None of my workloads really benefit from >sata speeds. NVME is an awkward in between that isn't fast enough to substitute for ram caching.
