Chrome using crazy amounts of CPU power on AMD

Chrome using crazy amounts of CPU power on AMD

Anybody else experiencing this? I'm getting temperatures in the high 60s browsing certain websites with a 5600X and a NH-D15 cooler. Same sites with Firefox do not cause such jumps in temperature

Unused CPU is wasted CPU.

>download bloatware
>complain about it being bloatware

this, i always run prime number calculations in the background so my CPU has stuff to do

mostly curious if others are experiencing the same shit or if its some hyper specific issue with my hardware that is causing issues.
Already tried latest Chrome on an intel setup and it did not have the same issue

Switch to Windows 11. Chromium-based browsers can't do hardware acceleration on Linux.

thats gay shit

I use opera so i dont know the experience

I get you're memeing but the more cpu usage doesn't actually result in Chrome being faster, Firefox runs these sites much smoother than Chrome does.
I hope it's a bug or something, not a sign of things to come. Imagine websites and browsers being such unoptomized pieces of shit that they strain your cpu more than games like Red Dead 2 does.

Which is not a joke. My CPU gets hotter browsing IMDB.com than it does playing RDR2.

Not my problem.

Show me ONE site where Firefox is faster than Chrome. I have an ancient CPU but Chrome can actually use it whole (100% CPU usage). Firefox hits 80% at most and browsing is sluggish in comparison.

Use Edge, not even joking. I switched 2 years ago.

Overclocked 1700X here, sitting comfortably at 35 degrees.

Chrome Premium is on the way...
