gentoobros, how do I install overlays?
All i want is to install this data.gpo.zugaina.org/nitratesky/x11-libs/libXft-bgra-patch/
but i cant figure out how to do it. I've tried doing it with layman like this
sudo layman -o data.gpo.zugaina.org/nitratesky/x11-libs/libXft-bgra-patch/metadata.xml -f -a libXft-bgra-patch

but it just says it doesn't exist
Fetching remote list...
Fetch Ok

Adding overlay...
Exception: Overlay "libXft-bgra-patch" does not exist.

CLI: Errors occurred processing action add
Exception: Overlay "libXft-bgra-patch" does not exist.

brainlet here. If I connect my phone I can "mount and browse files" but theres no option to unmount. In fact while I can still transfer files the option to mount still remains open. Does this mean its safe to disconnect at any time? Using garuda linux if it matters.

Hello, mates. What FOSS would you recommend for mining Ethereum on an RX 550?
Cheers.

Use eselect-repository: wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Eselect/Repository
Run emerge -a app-eselect/eselect-repository if you don't have it installed, then just
eselect repository enable nitratesky
emaint sync -r nitratesky
emerge -a x11-libs/libXft-bgra-patch

Heh.

I'm trying to install a desktop environment on arch and I'm having a hard time.

I really wanted equinox EDE but i finally gave up after trying to get it to work all day. the error had something to do with Xsettings variables that weren't NULL when trying to startede. couldn't find anyone else with this problem and it seems like the EDE project was abandoned years ago

>inb4 just use a modern supported DE

can't you just use umount [the mnt directory]

I could but the terminals to complicated for me

According to the Arch Wiki you just need to add EDE's custom repo and install from it edelib, ede-common and ede plus ede-wallpapers if you want that. Then you should be able to just launch it with startx or your DM.

>terminal scary
No, bad user. Get out of that mindset right now.

nice, this worked. Thanks user

is it possilbe to add a fifth modifier key?

you can swap keys and use something like qmk to make a single key a combination of two keys but is it possible to add a new modifier key all together?

sxhkd?

You can do that with xmodmap: wiki.archlinux.org/title/xmodmap
See youtube.com/watch?v=W9_H_M-H-a4

How is Thunderbird as a general email manager? The fact that it's by Mozilla is already putting me off but if it's good...

>Mozilla bad
It's pretty much one of the best GUI email managers you can use

It's fine, and so is Seamonkey once the devs finish retrofitting it.

hence the
>but if it's good...
they already burned me before by making Firefox worse with every update

It's shit. Just use mutt.
