bump

the privacy meme goes away if you host it on your own machine. get a cheap VPS and host it

then they can track the vps ip

Host it over Tor as a hidden service.

so?

I thought about it but I realized the privacy aspect comes from having many users. It might be worth it it if you have a lot of users

they can link that ip with your usage habits
how many users?

they need a court order to do that

constantly cucked by youtube api restrictions
logo reminds me of "new atheism"

if it's not your IP who cares, take your meds

Its literally the "if you have a question why you need it - you dont need it".
It is useful only for hobby reasons. Use a bunch of free vpses, save yourself some time.

Just locally on my machine. The docker image is great.

It doesn't use Youtube API.

>Because of various issues Invidious must be restarted often, at least once a day, ideally every hours.

so this is the power of open source

whatever, it basically is restricted and doesn't work half of the time

that's why you share the link so other people use it too.

i am, and 2 of my friends are.
we also host searx and other federsive stuff

Works flawlessly on my machine. Shits on content targeting, loads faster, runs full HD, blocks ads, bypasses age check by default and Google can do nothing with it.
I don't remember when was the last time I visited Youtube. I use Piped Invidious on PCs, NewPipe on my phone and I live just fine.

What do you mean by "restricted"? It's removed the age restriction that started to ask for an ID or credit card on youtube. My experience is comparable to 's. The only annoyance was transferring my subscriptions.

Meant to mention you in .
