The year is 2040

The year is 2040.
The only languages in use are Go, Zig and Rust.
The future is bright.

Rust is probably currently the best language for backend stuff performance wise(rest-api's, ...)

Zig is probably the best language for embedded stuff / microperformance / Where you just need manual memory management.

Go is the language suited best for Web-Services / Microservices and also fast development time.

The only languages in use are LISP and Ada.
The future is bright.

go is a meme lang made by the same schizos who made templeos

Ziggy gives you quality digits!! :D

Ziggy is cute.
But i also always loved lizards in general, literally the coolest animals.

Sitting on a hot stone all day, then digging themselves in and sleep. Repeat.

>the year is 2060
>the only languages that survived the bombs are c and risc-v asm
>the future isn't

bump

I believe the next big language will be zig because it's safe enough to be actually usable, and it's small enough that you could realistically write a compiler for it. The largest part of Zig is all the C/C++ interop stuff which becomes optional once you don't need to use those things.

I prefer the astronaut lizard over the crab a that thing whatever the fuck it is.

Why do all modern languages have these gay mascots?

>a fucking rat
>a crab
>whatever this thing is

>a fucking rat

Python is the future.

Humanity needs a programming lingua franca and Python is that lingua franca today. We should be humble and protect it.

>Rust is probably currently the best language for backend stuff performance wise(rest-api's, ...)
tell me you haven't touched backend without telling me

>Python is that lingua franca today
I think that's actually Java but Python is certainly catching up (and that's a good thing).

Java for the enterprise, yes, 100%. Python is like the protoboard of programming.

i wonder that as well, it's literally stupid, what does programming have to do with a mascot.

But i guess it's just a community thing or smth, i think a lot of people like it.

?????????????????????????????

What's bad about using rust for your backend?
tell me

>rust
>you will never be a woman.

you can do the former in the latter
you can even use the former instead of the latter via the c abi

I am literally just saying it from the perspective of the Industry.

Am a Zig shill, not rust.
Rust's syntax is stupid and contains too much OOP for my taste.
Also SaFE, i rather manage everything myself tyvm.

it's immature, boilerplaty, and compile times are attrocious, I'd rather use Java than Rust

There is no formal spec.
The ecosystem immaturity makes things that can be done in half an hour with spring boot take up an entire sprint.

It's as ready for enterprise as a Congolese pygmy is for the olympic high jump.

>Rust's syntax is stupid and contains too much OOP for my taste.
getting filtered by oop shows how much of a brainlet you really are
>SaFE
AgileTM at scale?

>broilerplate is bad for backend
you write all your config files from scratch?

sure, perfectly what i said.

>AgileTM at scale?
????????????????

bro you drunk or smth?

What rust trannys fail to understand because they've only been employed by the Israeli department of Miscegenation is that developer time is 1000 times more expensive than cpu time.

Tell me you've never worked as a developer without telling me you've never worked as a developer.
