So, I'm dead set on finding an NEC MultiSync FE1250 but cannot find any for sale, are there any other monitors that run the same res and are as photogenic?
Just want a CRT for my old school stuff

Whats the anime on that thing

This Mid 90's Trinitrons such as SGI GDM-20E21 and picrel CPD-300SF also look pretty cool in their own ways, though are little lower specced usually.
Eizo monitors are also quite unique.
Also of course remember to look for sister models of the FE1250, the top spec one being the FP1370. I believe it's available even in a black color.

OP is looking for monitors with more enjoyable design, most of those 2000s monitors look ugly as sin.

>OP is a faggot
ok i undertstand now

Design is important user. I'd pay 10 times as much for a P1110 vs P1130.

For me, it's the G series with the tit joystick. This just has to be the cleanest look you can have in a CRT.

Boring, it needs to have something going on. I like the interface of the Sun GDM-20E20 and GDM-W900 a lot. Very 90s.

This Sun GDM-20E20 is actually kinda cool.

Why are you fags always worried about CRTs not being available? Is it not possible to repair them? I have a bunch laying around. Not sure if they're any good. I used one for a long time. It's still on my desk but the screen got fucked awhile ago. I started having to increase the gamma/brightness setting. After awhile it was maxed out and I had to do it via the video card. A few months ago the outside of the screen bowed in and I turned it off.

I keep planning to look into repairing it but I've never worked on a CRT before. Is it not possible to fix it? Could I replace the tube with a new one? I really liked that monitor. It was 21-inches and I could drive it at higher refresh rates.

I have a bunch of shit that outputs SD over VGA. I try to keep a CRT around for that stuff. What do you guys use them for? Games?

Ah, so you like them buttons? Have them.

Yes Hitachis are nice as well but not really as aesthethic I think.

>I started having to increase the gamma/brightness setting. After awhile it was maxed out and I had to do it via the video card
Increase the G2 voltage with the SCREEN potentiometer on the flyback transformer. This will fix the issue completely, for some time.
>A few months ago the outside of the screen bowed in and I turned it off.
I suspect a cracked solder joint.
>Could I replace the tube with a new one?
This would not fix the bow. But I do not think you can find replacement tubes anymore.
> Is it not possible to fix it?
Depends on the issue, if the bow really is just a cracked solder joint or some failed basic thru-hole component, it's piss easy to fix, if you can find the offending part.

I think I've told all of this to you 3 times already..

Been trying to find one of those, but it seems like finding any CRT that isn't just low spec trash of it's time is impossible
Old babushka CRTs for 5 EUR isn't what I'm looking for unfortunately, but the supply seems to suck here for anything not babushka approved

Suppose it's time to admit defeat and just stick to my current monitors since not even neighboring countries have ANY CRTs for sale
