rd party package managers
no thanks, I'm sticking with Gentoo.

When do you guys think slackbuilds.org will catch up?

Jannies be seething today

hopefully by the end of the month or next month
ponce's repo works well for now

Who knows, ponce is one of the active maintainers anyways so use his repo until they get their shit together

How is this distro so fast despite having nearly every package under the sun installed?

Personally, I'm waiting for ChangeLog.rss 15.0.

For me, it's Linux Mint.

Or is this something else?

Because it's based.

it's amazing how much cruft has built up over most linux distros since the turn of the century
slackware avoided all that

Oh. Looks like it came out when I was asleep. Based.

Does anybody know if there's a way to read meta files in slackpkg(plus)?

slackware is the fastest, best, most simple, most predictable, least bloated, well thought out system of all.

i've tried quite a few distros and none comes even close.
the power of slackware comes not from half assed attempts at reinventing the wheel but from the strict adherence to principle which leads to a well-designed software distribution.

nothing comes within a light year near of slackware.

bumping because i like slacking

its literally the fact that it includes no systemd

systemd is slowing down all other linux systems

i think that's part of it too. it's got the fastest KDE implementation i have ever seen. the only good freedesktop tech is networkmanager.
