This model has been around for forever, minus the "make sure you're watching" ml thing, and it never catches on. There used to be a ton of shitty apps that would give you free giftcards for watching ads. I used one when I was 12 to get a "free" (ie I watched 2 hours worth of ads) $10 visa giftcard to buy porn with. They all failed for a reason; because third worlders realize they can farm them while no-one in the west who is worth targeting with ads is going to watch an hour of ads for $10.

Idk I don’t see that being an issue they can’t deal with. I was thinking more along the lines of feeding false video of a person watching a screen to them as if it were from the camera.

They're going to make sure this one works, probably.
Moviepass was a huge fad, and this may seem schizo - but it seems like a joint-effort between a lot of corporations to test how the public responds to entirely new ways of consooming.
First they had a "groundbreaking" strategy of having a subscription buffet deal. It succeeded, then Moviepass shut down, and companies took what they learned and adopted it into subscription plans.
Now they're suddenly coming back with an ad-based system that tracks your eyeballs? Something about this is suspicious to me.

I kind of agree. The machiavelianism of these guys is justified in a way by people being stupid and base enough to do this kind of thing. It is still satanic, but if people will do it, why not?

Back when I was still a kid most people didn't have a bank account, let alone a debit card. Now it's MANDATORY to have one, most people have credit cards as well.
Back when I was still a teenager mobile phones weren't really a thing, now it's borderline mandatory to live.
