How does Any Forums backup and sync their stuff to a hard drive or the cloud? I've been using Google Backup and Sync/Google Drive to automatically do that, but I'm done with Google products. What are some reliable alternatives?

MEGA. New accounts have 15 or 20GBs but if you have an old account it still has 50GBs of free storage. It also encrypts your files. The downsides are upload/download bandwith limits and general unreliabilitiy (e.g: you can't guarantee that the whole thing won't go down in a few years)

Buy three 4tb hard drives. Use one to back up daily and keep it on hand. Use the second to back up less frequently, say every week. Keep the third at another location, say a family member or friend you can trust, and back it up least frequently, say every month or two.

I rigged up a cheap NAS server at my grandparents house that I wrote a script to upload to for off-site backups. even backsup weekly snapshots of grannies harddrive so I don't have to do tech support.

How would you automatically backup/sync a folder with an HDD? The good thing about Google Drive is that whenever it detects a modification, it automatically backs it up to the cloud. Could the same be done with an HDD and some software? If so, how?
