I had a dumb project idea the other day... design a mainboard swap for one of the older thinkpads, but give it something like a Tegra X2 under the hood. I was actually thinking an X220 might be perfect, but I'm a little disappointed by the 1366x768 resolution.

Did they ever make this thing with a 1080p display, or is there another model that might be a better fit?

Wrong. X200s is the last good one.

Sorry, wristlet, I’ll stick with the W530.

asus zenbooks are based. i sold one, bought an xps and the xps is shit in comparison

Frankenpads are successful not dumb. Study real Thinkpad boards (not Any Forums) for plenty of detail. If you make a quality upgrade board they'll sell faster than you can build them.

You must have confused it with M1 Max 64 gb of ram MacBook Pro 16"

tell me where to get one cheap in europe in good condition and i'll listen to you OP

They were cheap in 2018 or so, now everyone knows they're good.

I've been using mine for 9 years. It's been an amazing machine but is starting to struggle a little. I am thinking about getting a X270.

>runs hot
