Do you think ISPs track and sell our browsing habits? Can they see what porn I watch?
Do you think ISPs track and sell our browsing habits? Can they see what porn I watch?
How do you think they make money and how do you think adverts are targeted to you? Check the ToS for the services you use if you want to know.
>Do you think ISPs track and sell our browsing habits?
Yes
>Can they see what porn I watch?
If you browse unencrypted yes
just wait until you realize the state sells your info to advertisers too kek
they can only see the domain name if the site uses https
>Do you think ISPs track and sell our browsing habits?
mine explicitly says they do that in the privacy policy. you can't opt out, all you can do is not subscribe to the service if you don't like it. I run everything I can through a VPN and force all DNS through my DoT resolver.
They don’t sell it, they give it away to the US government.
they cant
> I don't understand https
Ngmi
https means a third party such as your ISP cant read what you are sending and receiving from a website / server
>Implying there isn't a backsoor
Yes but it turns out they like money
a backdoor in what? the cryptography used to encrypt messages? i think someone would have found that by now if there were
How is my isp a third party. If anything, I'm the third party
>realzoophilia.com
you are the first party
the website you are on is the second party
anybody else is a third party
but I've never been invited to a party before, what if i mess something up?
you just have to believe in yourself
>ISP can't MITM
thats right they cant
thats exactly the point of https you see
thats right they cant
>all your traffic goes through ISP
thats the neat thing about encryption
>sells your DNS queries
Wat nou?
encryption doesn't secure you from mitm
ah yes my 800 queries a day to youtube and Any Forums. very telling
also DoH
if you dont use a DoH dns server then its your own fault
not without forging certificates, which someone will notice you doing on the ISP level
who cares dude
I worked for time Warner in the IT department. Yes we can but we don't really care enough to. We just want your telemetric data to keep the line strong. We barely pay attention to that. Your browsing habits aren't stored on our servers. Anything you're doing is wide open though. We can see everything you're doing real time down to the location of your mouse cursor location. We only cared about throughput though. We would get notified from 3rd parties about x ip downloading copyright content. All you had to do was agree but to do it again. We never cut anyone off. It's bad business. For illegal porn, that's all handled through law enforcement. Yes they can see what you're doing in real time with a warrant. Storing things like your history isn't something we did. The tb of data per person would overload the servers faster then you could imagine so we never did it. Technically there's a backlog but it gets deleted and overwritten within hours to a day. All that stuff is stored locally on your computer. We rented out server space as well to things like YouTube, Netflix, web hosting, nodes, etc. You're vastly overestimating how much we care about your browsing habits. Protip, we gave so little fucks, it's amazing it worked at all. From what I hear, not much has changed. But yes if you're under suspicion for illegal pornography, law enforcement is watching.
