Opposite here, I always use Newegg and never buy from Amazon because I refuse to become part of the botnet. That said I haven’t had any negative experiences because I never purchase any of the extra shit they push on me like the insurance or do any of the financing shit and never buy bundles.

I use Newegg for hard disks. Last time I ordered a hard disk from Amazon, they sent it in "frustration free" packaging, meaning a loose disk bouncing around inside a box along with some bit of crumpled paper that didn't do jack shit to protect it. Meanwhile Newegg has special hard disk bubble sleeves that properly protect drives in transit.

I had to RMA a graphics card with fucked VRAM once and had some annoyance because they sent the replacement with express shipping by a different carrier than the one I selected for the original purchase and it ended up taking a while because of some postal bullshit, but I can't really blame them much for that since it would have been fine if I had a normal address at the time

The last hard drive I bought from Amazon was in an air pouch. That was years ago though. There's also usually an option to get the full retail packaging.
